THREE-TIME
PRO BOWL QB DREW BLEDSOE INTERACTS WITH INMATES
OROFINO,
Idaho -- Drew Bledsoe, a three-time Pro Bowl quarterback with the New
England Patriots, will visit the Idaho State Maximum Security Prison in
Orofino, Idaho on Tuesday, July 11 to speak to the graduates from the
Parenting with Dignity course created through the Drew Bledsoe
Foundation. The Idaho State prison system has been using the Parenting
with Dignity course for over a year and a half with great success. It
is used as a part of their high school equivalency and G.E.D. programs,
their drug treatment program and as a part of the parole out-processing.
Drew will interact with the inmates and field questions about the program.
His
father, Mac, the co-founder of the Parenting with Dignity Program
and the President of the Drew Bledsoe Foundation, will accompany Drew on
the visit. Mac has visited the prison in the past and is currently working
on building a special version of the Parenting course for incarcerated
parents. Jim Rehder, the Director of Education for the Idaho Prison
System, has set up many opportunities during the day for both of the
Bledsoes to interact with the inmates and gather information for the
creation of this new version of the course.
